Generals Tally Up 34 Top Ten Finishes
At The Maroon Invitational

The Washington and Lee University Track & Field teams took a partial squad down to the Maroon Invitation and had 34 top Ten performances and broke two school records!

Women's Recap:
In the women's meets Freshmen Stacy Doornbos won the triple Jump in a record leap of 34'6.25"  She also placed third in the 100m running 12.84 which eclipsed the twelve year old record.  Fellow classmate Stephanie Stelter won the 400 hurdles running 71.92.  She also placed 4th in the 100 hurdles crossing the line in 17.48.  Alysen Kuck placed 3rd in the high jump clearing 4'11" she also placed 4th in the Javelin with a toss of 99'7"  Tara Hildenbrand placed 5th in the 200m (28.22) and 7th in the 100m (13.61).  Huntley Rodes placed 4th in the long jump (15'2"), 5th in the triple jump (31'0.5") and 9th in the 400m (67.62).  Diana Dozier was 6th in the 400m (65.06) and 10th in the 200m (29.97).  Cagla Defterali placed in 3 events finishing 5th in the long jump (14'8.5"), 5th in the javelin (97'3") and 7th in the triple jump (30'3.5").  Jessica Buckingham crossed the line 8th in the 800m running 2:36.82
In the relays the 4x400 team of Doornbos, Hildenbrand, Stelter and Dozier finished 2nd in 4:14.73.  The 4x100 team of Rodes, Caroline Davis, Hildenbrand and Doornbos finished 4th in 52.37.

Men's Recap:
The men were led by Indoor Conference High Jump Champion Ryan Edge.  Ryan placed 2nd in the high jump clearing 6'3.25"  He also placed 6th in the 110 hurdles running 17.72.  In the same race Larry Clark placed 8th running 18.32.  Marshall French (53.52) and Matt Harrison (53.68) placed 7th and 8th in the 400m.  Wilson Robinson finished 3rd in the 400 hurdles running 61.56 while Chip McCoy was 6th in his first ever hurdle race running 63.54.  Michael Stanton placed 8th in the high jump clearing 5'6"  In the Throws Andrew Fischer finished 4th in the Javelin throwing 153'10".  Ben Wilson was 7th in the shot put (37'1") and he also placed 9th in the hammer throw (82').  Hansen Babington was 8th in the discus with a toss of 101'11"
The 4x400 Relay team of McCoy, Robinson, Harrison and French finished 4th in 3:33.70.
