2006 NYU Invitational
The harriers of W&L travelled up to New York City to compete in the NYU Invitational at the storied Van Cortlandt Park course. The men placed 3rd out of 35 teams with 193 points while the women placed 5th out of 28 with 178 points.
The men were led by sophomore Michael Welsh who finished 18th (out of 294 runners) crossing the line in 28:01. 61 seconds separated the Generals top 4 runners. Sophomore Vance Berry ran #2 finishing in 32nd with a time of 28:39 while junior Andrew Friski was 42nd in 28:57 and classmate Tom Brower right behind in 45th (29:02). Freshmen Ben Stutts rounded out the top 5 with a 56th place finish in 29:21. Fellow freshmen Elliot O'Brien (57th) and Stuart Vassey (80th) rounded out the top 7 for the Generals.

For the women sophomore Jackie Burns led the charge with an impressive 3rd place showing out of 262 runners. She completed the course in 19:33. Burns was followed by a young group of freshmen runners. Dorothy Todd finished 23rd in 21:01, Mary Frances Weatherly was 39th in 21:26, Annie Kasper finished 50th in 21:40 and Elizabeth Krausnick was 63rd in 22:14. Junior Jessica Buckingham was 99th and freshmen Claudia Vincenti was 130th to complete W&L's top 7.
