Wake Forest Invitational
The Generals traveled south to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational. The meet featured dividsion 1, 2 and 3 schools. Among D3 schools W&L had 17 top three performances.
Men's Recap:
Alex Mahoney led the way for the men finishing 4th overall (1st D3) in the 5,000m running 15:27.04. Andrew Johnson finished 3rd in 16:29.1. Larry Clark crossed the line 2nd D3 in the 110 hurdles running 17.17 while Wilson Robinson (61.0) and Chip McCoy (61.1) finished 2nd and 3rd in the 400 hurdles. Ryan Edge cleard 6'2.75" to place 3rd in the high jump. Will Holliday (52.0) and Marshall French (52.3) crossed the line 3rd and 4th in the 400m. Robbie Varipapa also finished 3rd D3 in the 800m running 2:02.03.
Women's Recap:
For the women Caroline Davis was a double place winner finishing 2nd inthe 400 hurdles (67.5) and 4th in the 100 hurdles (17.35). Stacy Doornobs finished 1st among D3 athletes in the 400 hurdles setting a new school record running 67.2. Tara Hildenbrad was 2nd in the 400m running a time of 62.9 while Diana Dozier was 5th in 63.3 Elizabeth Webb crossed the line 2nd int he 800m running 2:29.80 and Becca Taylor was also 2nd in the 1500m running 5:07.77
The Generals will take next week off for finals and then will start to gear up for the Penn Invitational on April 8th.
