2007 Marietta Open

The Generals Officially Opened Up Their Indoor Season In Marietta Ohio.  3 School Records, 6 First Places Finishes and 17 Top-Five Performances Highlighted the Opening Meet.

 

The women's team placed 4th out of 16 teams competing against division 1, 2 and 3 schools.  Grace Andrews started the meet off by breaking her own school record in the 20 lb. weight throw with a toss of 36-8.  Freshmen Kat Telfeyan set the stage winning the mile in school record fashion crossing the line 1st overall in 5:26.02.  Sophomore Stacy Doornbos finished 1st overall in the 300m (43.33) and was the 1st D3 finisher in the 500m (1:21.88).  Classmate Elizabeth Webb ran away from the pack winning the 800m in 2:29.56.  The Distance Medley Relay team  of Elizabeth Web, Stephanie Stelter, Liz Krausnick and Becca Taylor finished 1st setting a new school record running 13:11.24.  Sophomore Becca Taylor also finished 2nd overall in the 1,000m running 3:22.14.  Freshmen Maggie Sutherland finished 3rd among D3 athletes in the 55m hurdles running 9.21

 

The men were led by the Distance Medley Relay team of Steven Rivoir, Tom Brandlein, Rob Saliers and Michael Welsh as they were the 1st D3 team team running 11:02.23.  Drew Martin had a strong showing as the 2nd D3 finisher in the Pole Vault clearing 14'6".  Steven Rivoir and Michael Welsh had a 3-4 finish in the 1,000m.  Freshmen Ryan Castle was the 4th place D3 finisher in the Long Jump with a leap of 20'7.25"
Anthony Ives crossed the line as the 5th place D3 finisher in the Mile running 4:45.44
