2007 Outdoor ODAC Championships

The Generals had strong performances at the ODAC Championship Meet.  The women placed 2nd while the men finished 4th.  Five ODAC Champions and 10 All-ODAC performances (placing in the top 2) highlighted the meet.

 

Women's Recap:

The women were led by Elizabeth Webb's historic performance.  Her distance tri-fecta has never been accomplished in the history of the conference.  She won the 1,500m (4:50.20), then came back to win the 800m (2:21.76) and then finished the day off by winning the 5,000m (19:13.95).  For her efforts she was named ODAC Athlete-Of-The-Meet as well as Scholar-Athlete-Of-The-Year.  Alysen Kuck was a double winner for the Generals finishing first in the High Jump (1.58m) and 1st in the Javelin (33.52m).
Becca Taylor placed 2nd in the 1,500m (4:53.55) and 5th in the 800m (2:28.31).  Kat Telfeyan in just her second outdoor meet of the year placed 3rd in the 1,500m (4:48.18) and then came back for 5th in the 5,000m (19:44.22).
Stacy Doornbos had a strong day placing 2nd in the 400m hurdles crossing the line in 67.21.  She also placed 3rd in the Long Jump (5.39m), 4th in the Triple Jump (10.54m) and 6th in the High Jump (1.48m).  Maggie Sutherland placed 3rd in the 100m hurdles (16.04) and 5th in the High Jump.  Stephanie Stelter also placed in two events finishing 6th in both the 100m hurdles (16.95) and the 400m hurdles (71.94).
Liz Brandler was 2nd in the Pole Vault while Mary Frances Weatherly was 6th in the vault. and Sallie Armstrong placed 4th in the 400m hurdles running 70.13.

Men's Recap:

The men placed 4th at the championship meet scoring points in a wide variety of events.  Billy Billing was 2nd in the Discus (12.34m).  Andrew Fischer also placed 2nd in the Javelin with a school record toss of 50.53m.  Ben Goetsch was 2nd in the High Jump clearing a height of 1.88m.  Third place performances were turned in by Chip McCoy in the 400m hurdles running 58.89.  and the 4x400m Relay of McCoy, Brian Bondurant, Marshall French and Matt Harrison.  Ben Wilson placed 4th in the Shot Put (13.22m).  Fifth place performances were turned in by Marshall French in the 400m (51.03), Rob Saliers in the 800m (2:00.08) and Michael Keenan in the Javelin (43.22m).  Sixth place finishes were seen by Vance Berry in the 1500m running 4:10.16, Larry Clark in the 110m hurdles, Drew Martin in the Pole Vault and Brian Bondurant in the Triple Jump
