2008 Emory Invitational
The Generals Headed Down To Georgia To Open Up The Outdoor Season At The Emory Invitational. Thirteen Top-10 Performances and 3 School Records Highlighted A Solid Opening Meet For The Generals.
The Women's meet was started off with the 4x100m relay team placing 5th and setting a new school record. Freshmen Summer Lollie and juniors Stephanie Stelter, Tara Hildenbrand and Stacy Doornbos teamed up to cross the line in 50.79. Doornbos came back to break her own school record in the 400m. She placed 2nd overall running 58.48. Next up junior Elizabeth Webb broke the school record in the 800m running 2:17.73 to placed 3rd. The 1500m saw the Generals go 3-4-6. Junior's Becca Taylor (4:53.36) and Jessica Shaw (4:53.36) and sophomore Kat Telfeyan (4:59.55) battled the windy conditions to open the season with solid marks. Sophomore Sallie Armstrong (70.12) and junior Stephanie Stelter(70.35) finished 4th and 5th in the 400m hurdles. Junior Alysen Kuck opened the season with a PR in the Javelin placing 4th with a toss of 112-8. The 4x400 relay team of Armstrong, Hildenbrand, Stelter and Doornbos finished 5th overall crossing the line in 4:08.95.
Junior Vance Berry led the charge for the men. His time of 15:35.84 in the 5,000m placed him 3rd overall. Sophomore Ben Goetsch cleared 1.91m to place 6th. Sophomore Brian Bondurant Triple Jumped 12.26m and senior Michael Keenan opened up with a Javelin toss of 150-1. Junior Alex Jackson PRed in the 1500m running 4:16.70. Freshmen Jeff Giordano crossed the line in the 100m with a time of 11.36.
