2007 ODAC Cross Country Championships

Generals Sweep ODAC Titles for the 4th Year In A Row

The Generals hosted the ODAC championship meet on the Dick Miller cross country course Saturday and defended their titles in two close and exciting races to make it 4 championship titles in a row. 

 

Women's Recap:
In a close and competitive race the W&L women came out on top.  The Generals put 6 runners in the top 14 to earn All-ODAC honors.  Led by a 1-2 finish with Kat Telfeyan (23:48) winning the race and Becca Taylor (24:09) placing 2nd. Elizabeth Webb placed 6th crossing the line in 24:40 and Chrisitine Balistreri was 11th running 25:27.  Katherine Fenwick was 13th and Dorothy Todd 14th running 25:34 and 25:37 respectively. Lizz Krausnick placed 18th (26:12) to round out the Generals top 7

With her win sophomore Kat Telfeyan was named ODAC Runner-Of-The-Year and junior Becca Taylor was named ODAC Scholar-Athlete-Of-The-Year while Kris Hoey was honored as ODAC Coach-Of-The-Year.

 

Men's Recap:
The Generals had a strong race to hold of the challengers to win their 4th straight title.  W&L had 5 runners earn All-ODAC honors.  Michael Welsh placed 2nd running a time of 27:56 with Tom Brower right behind him crossing the line in 28:03.  Vance Berry also earned 1st team All-ODAC honors with his 6th place finish.  Alex Jackson placed 13th (29:26) and Andrew Friski (29:36) was 14th.  Ben Stutts crossed the line 17th with a time of 29:59 and Anthony Ives was 21st (30:10) to round out the Generals top 7 runners.

The men's team brought home some hardware with junior Tom Brower being named ODAC Scholar-Athlete-Of-The-Year and Coach Tucker was named Men's Coach-Of-The-Year.
