Washington and Lee University boasts some of the finest athletic facilities for any NCAA Division III school, highlighted by several construction projects completed within the last five years. In the midst of a Strategic Initiative which has featured an upgrade of athletic facilities, several projects are also on the books for years to come. Wilson Field Outdoor Track Complex

Newly renovated, Washington and Lee’s home Track & Field meets are held at the track surrounding Wilson Field, home of the Generals’ football team.

Cormack Field House

The Cormack Field House located on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute, one of the finest indoor facilities in the region, continues to provide an outstanding training and meet site for the indoor track season.  Cormack Field House features a 200-meter banked Rub-turf track and is home to the VMI Track & Field Keydets.  The Generals utilize the facility for indoor training. Comack Field House is a frequent site of the Indoor ODAC Track & Field Championships.

 

Dick Miller Cross Country Course

Winding through the hilly woods west of the campus, Washington and Lee's two demanding cross country courses offer many challenges for both men and women. Both courses, 8,000 meters for the men and 5,000 & 6,000 meters for the women, are entirely on natural surfaces showing off the beautiful surroundings of Lexington Virginia.   

 

 

W&L Fitness Center

11,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness and strength training center is located in the historic Doremus Gymnasium. 

 

Training Trails (where we run)

Washington and Lee University and Lexington Virginia is home to miles and miles of tremendous wooded training trails.  The Generals distance crew utilizes the variety of surfaces and scenery throughout the year.  The trails are highlighted by the “Chessy trail” which consists of several miles of trails flowing along the banks of the Maury River.
 
 

Athletic Training Facilities
Washington and Lee has two separate athletic training facilities; one is located under the Wilson Field Stadium, and the other, on the 300 level of the Doremus Gymnasium.  Both facilities are equipped with rehabilitation modalities and equipment as well as wound care, taping, bracing, and supporting endeavors.

Housed in the newly renovated Wilson Field stadium are individual team rooms.  These immaculately kept locker facilities include: Personalized open wood-frame lockers, punch-key access and laundry service
