Greensboro Invitational

The Generals traveled south to Greensboro North Carolina to get a preview of the ODAC championship course and to compete in the Greensboro Invitational at Hagen Stone Park.
The meet consisted of division 1,2 and 3 schools.  The men place 3rd out of 14 schools overall and was 2nd of 6 divison 3 schools.  The women place 2nd out of 12 schools overall and placed 2nd out of 5 Division 3 schools.

Mens Recap:

Overall the men place their first 5 all in the top 30.
The men were lead by sophomore Alex Mahoney as he continues his strong season finishing 3rd overall and 1st D3 crossing the line in 26:34.  Freshmen Michael Welsh also continued his great rookie campgain finishing 11th overall and 5th among D3 runners in 27:10.  Senior Andrew Johnson finished 18th overall (9th D3) in 28:04 close behind was sophomore Andrew Friski was 20th (10th D3) in 28:12. Freshmen Vance Berry had a solid first collegiate race running 28:47 to place 29th and 12th among D3 runners.  Junior David Kronenfeld and freshmen Anthony Ives crossed the tape in 54th (24th D3) and 55th (25th D3), while sophomore Steve Rivoir finished in 30:35 to place 57th and 26th D3.  Arie George finished 98th (40th D3) in 34:32.

Women's Recap:

The women had another strong team performance placing their top four runners among the top ten places overall with just 30 seconds separating them.  Sophomore Lindsay Erickson lead the team with a 4th place finish overall and a 2nd place among D3 runners finishing with a time of 20:06.  The strong pack of senior Liz Twentyman (20:26), junior Jenny Ratzel (20:34) and senior Mary Christopher (20:36) finished together 8th,9th and 10th overall (4th, 5th & 6th D3).  Sophomore Jessica Buckingham rounded out the top 5 running 21:45 placing 25th (14th D3).  Freshmen Jennifer Janes ran 22:15 crossing the line in 29th (16th D3).  Seniors Sarah Williamson and Megan Ward were 38th (18th D3) and 39th (19th D3) in 23:03 and 23:08.  Freshmen Sara Ratzel was 40th overall (20th D3) in 23:19 and Freshmen Regina Mills was 41st (21st D3) in 23:37. Ashley Brown, Nicole Merrullo, and Karen Blackburn rounded out the team in 45th(22nd D3), 46th(23rd D3), and 53rd(25th D3) places respectively.
